ALAMEDA COUNTY (KRON) — Officials at Alameda County Vector Control are asking residents to be on the lookout for bats with rabies.

This month, four bats in the county have tested positive for rabies.

The latest bat was found in Sunol on Saturday.

Thursday, officials announced that the bat had tested positive for rabies.

Three other bats were found in the Fremont area earlier this month.

There is no vaccine for humans when it comes to rabies, but most cats and dogs can be vaccinated.

That is the only way to make sure they are completely safe from this deadly disease.

KRON 4’s Will Tran has more information on the bats found in this video report.
