VALLEJO (KRON) — At a school board meeting Wednesday, the mother of Max Rusk, a teen killed at a trail near Jesse Bethel High School in Vallejo, came forward, blaming the school for his death.

She’s not the only parent who is upset at how the school district is handling student safety.

Parent LaDonna Williams said that she raised the same concerns in 2012, after her daughter Anissia was harassed at her school.

Students recorded video of Annisia being brutally attacked while on school grounds. That incident caused her mom to take her out of public school with the Vallejo City School District, enrolling her in a home school program for the past three years.

With her mom by her side, Annisia talked about Rusk’s death. “I just feel so horrible for him and his family because I feel like it could have been prevented,” said Annisia.

Her mother agrees, and was upset that the district superintendent refused to answer any questions at Wednesday’s board meeting.CLICK HERE TO SEE THAT VIDEO

Williams is in the midst of a civil lawsuit against the Vallejo Unified School District for what happened to her daughter, who says she has lingering affects from the incident.
