Fire up your grill — it’s National Hamburger Day!
Although there is some controversy about where and when hamburgers came to be, they likely debuted in the 19th or early 20th centuries.
And of course, the burger has long been seen as a classic American meal.
Popular topping for these special sandwiches include ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, and peppers.
The biggest burger made in the world was made in Carlton, Minnesota in 2012.
That’s when chefs at the Black Bear Casino Resort cooked a piece of meat that was just over 2,000 pounds.
Happy eating!
