(WCMH) – An Arizona woman was arrested after police say her child ate macaroni and cheese with THC butter.
According to KPHO and KTVK in Arizona, 25-year-old Alaina Marie Limpert was charged with one count of child abuse. Limpert admitted to making the dish with THC butter for her husband, but said she did not know her daughter ingested it.
According to the police report, Limpert’s almost two-year-old daughter was eating the mac and cheese with her father. Someone inside the house notified the Department of Child Safety two days later.
Limpert and her husband reportedly did not take the child to seek emergency care, but “laughed about the side effects the child experienced during that time and then proceeded to place her into their backyard pool to use the cold water to ‘shock’ her.”
The Department of Child Safety arrived to take custody at three children living at the home.
Hospital officials confirmed they found THC in the infant’s system.
