GILROY (KRON/BCN) —
UPDATE 6:27 A.M. — A 78-year-old man who went missing in Gilroy Saturday has been located this morning, police said.
Jose Jesus Carillo Arrellano, 78, was located around 12:50 a.m. near the east Gilroy city limits by police officers searching near an open field.
Police said it appears Arrellano fell down an embankment and into a field parallel to U.S. Highway 101.
Arrellano was responsive when he was located, and he was transported to the hospital.
Police said he is expected to survive.
Arrellano walked away from his residence around 11 a.m. Saturday and went missing.
Police are asking for help locating a missing Gilroy man Saturday night, police said.
Jose Jesus Carillo Arrellano walked away from his home on Stoney Court at about 11 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
Arrellano is 78 years old and takes medication, which he does not have with him, police said.
Arrellano walks with a cane and does not remember where he lives, according to police.
He was last seen wearing a tan cowboy hat, a white T-shirt and brown pants, police said.
