A 66-year-old Palo Alto woman is still nowhere to be found after she was last seen at a market in East Palo Alto six days ago.
Family members say they have been searching extensively but found nothing.
The missing woman hadn’t driven her car for two-and-a-half months because of a major back surgery, but last Friday she got in her car, stopped at a store to buy cigarettes, and drove off in the direction of the Dumbarton Bridge.
Wamaitha Kaboga-Miller is a retired Palo Alto resident who had worked for Apple. She had that back surgery in July and has been on pain medication ever since.
Her sons tell KRON4 she left her home around 9 a.m. last Friday, made a purchase at the Country Time Market in East Palo Alto 30 minutes later, and drove off. A Silver Alert was issued.
Surveillance video shows her at that store. It’s the last time anyone has reported seeing Wamaitha.
Her son tells KRON4 the purchase took a very long time because of her health condition. They are fearful that someone may have taken advantage of her.
Kaboga-Miller was driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz. Family members are fearful because they say that she is without her meds.
The license plate number on her car that has also not been seen since Friday is DP241lU.
Family members are looking for volunteers to help them look for Wamaitha Saturday at 9 a.m. at the YMCA in East Palo Alto.
