MILPITAS (KRON)—A 47-year-old transient who was shot near a Milpitas shopping center died Thursday morning at a hospital, a police spokesman said.

The man was found just before 4 a.m. on the corner of North Milpitas Blvd. and Dixon Road near the Sunnyhills Shopping Center, police Sgt. Raj Maharaj said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the man with a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

A suspect has not been identified in the case, but the death has been ruled a homicide, Maharaj said.
