SAN BRUNO (KRON) – The woman that was arrested for lewd acts with an underage girl in San Bruno has been released from custody.

40-year-old Heather Amanda Butts of Millbrae posted an $85,000 bail bond Wednesday night, according to the San Mateo District Attorney’s Office.

The San Bruno Police Department received a report on Monday of an adult female that had engaged in inappropriate behavior with a juvenile female while inside of a car parked on Santa Helena Avenue in San Bruno.

Officers tried contacting 40-year-old Heather Amanda Butts of Millbrae and found Butts sitting in the suspected car with the child. Butts was not arrested immediately arrested.

Further investigation revealed that she is a drama teacher at Taylor Middle School in Millbrae and began an inappropriate relationship with the girl.

Butts was then arrested at her home in Millbrae on Wednesday.

Millbrae School District has placed Butts on administrative leave pending further investigation. Her first court appearance date will be on September 19.
