A middle school in San Jose unveiled its new stem lab on Wednesday that will give kids early exposure to some high tech tools.
At Sylvandale Middle School has dozens of computers and workstation for students to try their hand at robotics, computer science, and alternative energy.
This lab was paid for with a grant.
Many kids don’t have any experience with this sort of equipment until they are in high school or college.
The hope is that by exposing it to them in middle school it will trigger interest in education.
The program runs for an entire school year, two semesters and the principal hopes that more kids will sign up for the program in the years to come.
