COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police departments around the country are ‘warning’ meth users that their drugs could be contaminated with Zika virus.
Police departments are making the tongue-in cheek warning, offering to test the meth to make sure it’s clean.
A version of the post shared by the Bath Township Police Department in Michigan yesterday reads:
We have read reports online about meth possibly containing the Zika virus! We DO NOT want this to happen to you. If you recently bought some meth, you can bring it into the Bath Township Police Department and we can test it for you. Your safety is our #1 priority!
A version of the post made in March by the Salley Valley Police Department in South Carolina also offers to make house calls to ‘test’ drug stashes.
