SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 23-year-old marijuana delivery driver was carjacked by two masked suspects early Friday morning near the John McLaren Park playground in San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood, police said.
The deliverywoman had just gotten out of her car in the 2000 block of Burrows Street around 1 a.m. when two male suspects wearing masks attempted to grab her, according to police.
The woman fought back and struck both of the suspects, but they managed to get into her vehicle and drive away, she told police.
The vehicle was later located by police who determined that the victim had been robbed of marijuana and cash.
One suspect was described as a man between 20 and 22 years old while the other was described as a man between 18 and 20 years old, police said.
Police have not made any arrests and are continuing to investigate the incident.
San Francisco has numerous businesses that provide marijuana delivery services to those with medical marijuana cards and it is unclear whether the driver was targeted because she had marijuana in her vehicle.
