Health officials are warning of a possible measles exposure in San Francisco.
According to the Department of Public Health, the person who was contagious with measles has been identified as a Santa Clara County resident and visited several areas in San Francisco the first week of April.
There is currently no measles outbreak and the risk to the general public is very low, officials said in a statement Wednesday.
“The individuals who are potentially at risk are unvaccinated children and that includes children under the age of 1, unvaccinated adults and adults who are severely immune compromised,” said Dr. Julie Stoltey with the San Francisco Health Department.
If you were present at any of the following locations during the times listed and are not immune to measles, you are advised to watch for symptoms of illness which can develop between 7 and 21 days after the date of exposure.
“The risk from this exposure is low but we want people who are not immune or not vaccinated to review this list and see if they were potentially exposed and monitor themselves for symptoms,” she said.
