More than 15,000 firefighters are working to contain 18 large wildfires across California.

Last week, there were 17 wildfires reported.

As of Sunday, fire officials estimate the fires have burned over 559,000 acres and damaged or destroyed over 1,800 structures.

Officials say a total 17,000 homes continue to be threatened by these fires.

Nearly 45,000 residents are under evacuation orders.

Cal Fire is reminding people who need to evacuate to leave early to avoid being caught in fire, smoke, or road congestion.

Emergency supply kits are also recommended to be ready to go in the event of an emergency.

Be sure to include enough supplies for at least three days.
