BERKELEY (KRON) — They say lightning doesn’t strike twice, except maybe for one very lucky Berkeley man.  Robert Dos Santos won $1000 off a California Lottery scratcher two months ago, and used some of his winnings towards some more lottery tickets, according to lottery officials.

On Friday, he discovered he had bought another winning ticket, this time with a slightly larger jackpot– a $5 million prize, lottery officials said.

Dos Santos purchased the ticket at 7-Eleven located at 1501 University Ave. in Berkeley.  The 7-Eleven will also be awarded $25,000 for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said.

The very lucky Dos Santos hasn’t planned on what he’ll do with the $5 million, but he did confirm he’ll probably buy a few more scratchers.  Knowing his luck, that might not be a bad idea.
