SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A lucky man is now $1 million richer after he bought a winning California Lottery Scratchers ticket in San Francisco, lottery officials said.
Saed Nijem played the “50X the Money” Scratchers game on a ticket purchased at Woerner’s Liquors at 901 Geary St.
Days later, he turned in the winning ticket at the California Lottery district office.
He says he plans to use the money on college education for his children.
The liquor store that sold the ticket will receive a $5,000 bonus from California Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials urge customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. Anyone who feels that they have a gambling problem or knows someone who does can get help by calling (800) GAMBLER.
