MONTEREY COUNTY (KRON) — Monterey County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl, according to Cmdr. John Thornburg.
Fabian Perez was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl while driving her to school, Thornburg said.
Deputies received a report of a possible sexual assault around 11 a.m. and through their investigation identified Perez as the suspect, sheriff’s officials said.
The victim notified authorities of the alleged assault after she reached her school, sheriff’s officials said.
Perez was a friend of the victim’s family and is not associated with the school, according to sheriff’s officials.
The 32-year-old was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping and molestation, sheriff’s officials said.Bay City News contributed to this report
