NAPA (KRON) – A 23-year-old Hercules man was arrested Wednesday as an arson suspect in two Napa fires last year.
Kasey Cardell Holt was linked to the fires after a 15-month investigation by Napa police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, police said.
On June 22, 2015, a fire at the Napa Valley College gym and basketball coach’s office was investigated as suspicious. Evidence at the scene made the fire appear to be intentionally set, police said.
At about 1 a.m. June 28, 2015, Napa police and firefighters responded to a fire in the 200 block of Valley Oak Drive. Witnesses told police that someone was seen running from the fire.
The burning townhouse belonged to a Napa Valley College employee who was associated with the athletic department, police said.
Connected townhouses were also burned in the fire. Several incendiary devices were found at the scene, police said.
Holt was arrested at 8:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Corte Arango in El Sobrante on suspicion of attempted murder, arson of an inhabited structure, possession of a destructive device with intent to injure, residential burglary and arson of a structure.
