PLEASANT HILL (BCN) — A Vallejo man accused of shoving an 82-year-old man aside at a Pleasant Hill ATM and taking his money last month was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses on Thursday, according to police.
Police identified Robert Ramos, 29, as the man arrested in connection with an incident on Dec. 11 at 11:15 a.m. at a Bank of America at 2178 Contra Costa Boulevard.
Ramos allegedly pushed the man aside as he was in the middle of a transaction. Police said Ramos then withdrew money from the victim’s account.
Images taken from surveillance video were used to help identify Ramos, police said.
Pleasant Hill detectives began working with other agencies upon learning that Ramos may have been involved in similar incidents in at least six other cities, police said.
Walnut Creek police on Wednesday identified the suspect as Ramos, and Pleasant Hill police arrested him on Thursday.
He was booked into Martinez Detention Facility and is being held on $225,000 bail.
