SEASIDE (BCN) — A 46-year-old man suspected of robbing a Seaside Check ‘n Go location in late August was arrested last week, police said Thursday.
Thomas Scott Maurer, a Monterey resident, was arrested on suspicion of a robbery that happened Aug. 25 at the store on 1171 Fremont Blvd., police said.
He allegedly went inside the business, pulled out a firearm from his jacket pocket and demanded a clerk for money, according to police.
The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen heading west to a parking lot on Hilby Avenue, according to police.
Officers worked with the Monterey Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team that was able to identify Maurer as the suspect through community tips, police said.
On Saturday around 8:30 p.m., detectives served a warrant at Maurer’s Monterey home in the 2200 block of North Fremont Street and arrested him without incident, according to police.
The 46-year-old man was booked into Monterey County Jail on $40,000 bail, police said.
