SAN FRANCISCO (KRON/BCN) — A man was shot and seriously injured in San Francisco’s Mission District early Saturday morning as he attempted to drive away from an argument, police said.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was sitting in a vehicle with a friend in the area of 21st and Shotwell streets shortly before 3 a.m. when the shooting occurred, police said.

A male suspect walked up to the vehicle’s passenger side window and started to argue with the victim.

The victim tried to drive away, but the suspect shot him in the chest before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

No arrest has been made as of Monday morning, police said.
