ANTIOCH (BCN) — Police are seeking the person responsible for shooting at a man as he walked on an Antioch street Monday night.
At 9:17 p.m., police responded to a report that a person had been shot and the victim was at the corner of Sycamore Drive and Spanos Street, according to police.
When officers arrived, officers found the victim, a 26-year-old Antioch resident, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg, police said.
The officers rendered aid to the victim and called medical personnel to the scene, police said.
The victim told officers he was walking on Dogwood Way near Linden Way, when a male shot him and then fled in a car, according to police.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he underwent medical treatment for his non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.
During the incident, a bullet also struck a nearby home, however, no one else was injured, according to police.
Police were not able to locate the suspect.
