SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed Monday night in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza, police said.

Around 8:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at the Civic Center Plaza, according to police.

Upon arrival, officers learned a woman had been involved in a physical altercation with a man.

The man stabbed the woman in the neck, causing her to stumble into the middle of the roadway and collapse, police said.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police were unable to detain the suspect, described as a 35-year-old man.
