MUNCIE, ID (WCMH) – An Indiana man faces aggravated battery charges after police say he stabbed his brother with a fork during a fight over a pot roast.
Police tell WXIN-TV that Rodney Gilliam, 49, and his brother Randy were both drinking alcohol. Rodney was also cooking a pot roast when Randy claimed it was his.
Officer say Rodney then grabbed a three-pronged fork, and then two men began to fight. Randy ended up with lacerations to the head and a puncture wound to the left forearm, WXIN-TV reports.
The stabbing victim went to the home of a friend who took him to the emergency room, the Star Press reports. At the same time, Rodney called 911 to report his brother was “taking advantage of him.”
Officers responded to the home where they discovered “large amounts of blood.” They also found the fork used in the attack.
Rodney was arrested on battery charges. He’s being held on a $20,000 bond, court records state.
