MARIN CITY, Calif. (AP) – A man has died after being shot in Marin City while visiting for the memorial service of a family friend who was killed in a Sacramento shooting.
KCBS-AM reports that a sheriff’s lieutenant says family and friends found the 35-year-old Vallejo man lying outside their residence with multiple gunshot wounds in his chest and abdomen.
Lt. Doug Pittman says the Marin County sheriff’s office received multiple calls about shots being fired at about 1 on Sunday morning.
He says it’s unclear whether this was a random act or if the man was ambushed as he left the apartment.
Pittman says the gunshot victim was transported to Marin General Hospital, where he died.
His name has not yet been released.
