SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed on Monday night in San Francisco’s Ingleside Heights neighborhood, police said.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Head Street and learned a man had been fatally shot, police said.

The victim has been identified as San Francisco resident Phillip Gaston, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Gaston is the third person fatally shot in the city since Friday, and the seventh homicide victim in the city since Oct. 1.

On Friday, 22-year-old San Francisco resident Keron Lamotte and another man were shot around 7 p.m. in the area of Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street in San Francisco’s Oceanview neighborhood. Lamotte died at the scene.

On Saturday, 33-year-old Alfredo Dixon was shot and killed around 5:50 p.m. in the area of Sixth and Natoma streets.

In addition to six new fatal shootings and stabbings in the city this month, a seventh man, 29-year-old Fidel Amezcua, died on Oct. 1 of injuries sustained in a Mission District shooting that occurred in June.

No arrest has been made in the case and no suspect information was immediately available.Bay City News contributed to this report.
