ANTIOCH (BCN) — A man was seriously injured Thursday in a head-on crash in Antioch.

Officers with the Antioch Police Department responded Thursday at 6:02 p.m. to the area of Lone Tree Way at James Donlon Boulevard on a report of a crash with injuries, police said.

Police said the driver of a white Honda heading east on James Donlon Boulevard appeared to have a seizure and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle crossed the median, crashed into a light pole, shearing it from its base, and then crashed head-on into another vehicle.

Two passengers, a 39-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital after complaining of pain, police said.

The driver, identified as a 24-year-old man, was thrown into the passenger side windshield and was partially ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Several bystanders helped pull him from the vehicle and remained with him until medical units arrived.

The man was taken to the hospital with severe injuries and remained in critical but stable condition Thursday night.
