SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man was robbed at gunpoint in South San Francisco early Sunday morning.

The victim told police that he was walking down the 600 block of Linden Avenue just before 3 a.m. when a man came up and asked for a cigarette.

When the victim told the man he didn’t have any, the victim told police that the other man pulled out what he thought was a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet

After taking the wallet, robber ran away toward Pine Avenue.

That man is described as a Hispanic man about 23 years old, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.

Police said the man had short black hair and was clean-shaven.

The victim told police the assailant was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with red lettering on the front, light-colored blue jeans and white shoes, according to police.
