RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – On Saturday a runner will get a second chance to finish the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K race.

Bill Hughes, a runner from Nothern Virginia, participated in the race, on the original date April 9, 2016, but was unable to finish due to a health issue.

Hughes suffered from a heart attack near the halfway point of the race.

After recovering from his triple bypass surgery he is now ready to make it to the finish line.

Though it is pouring outside, Hughes is determined to finish what he has started.
