UPDATE: A man in his mid 30s died late Wednesday night in San Francisco when the scooter he was on went over a highway barrier and onto the ground 35
to 40 feet below, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash occurred at 11:23 p.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 101 just south of the Ninth Street exit, CHP Officer Vu Williams said. Williams clarified that the man was riding a scooter rather than a motorcycle as initially reported.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, lost control of the scooter as he was on a sweeping left curve. He died at the scene, Williams said.
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A motorcyclist was killed in an accident Wednesday night on U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11:23 p.m. on northbound Hwy 101 just north of eastbound Hwy 80, CHP officials said.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash briefly closed one lane of the roadway.
The crash was cleared at 12:37 a.m.
