WATSONVILLE (KRON) — A man on probation was arrested in Watsonville on Thursday after police found methamphetamine, two firearms, and a gorilla mask in his possession, police said.
Javier Chavez Velez, 28, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm.
Around 12:25 p.m., a police officer spotted Chavez walking in the Jack in the Box parking lot at 1085 South Green Valley Road.

Chavez, who was on probation, was searched for a probation compliance check and discovered to be in possession of 4.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, police said.
Officers also discovered a rifle, a loaded shotgun, ammunition, a gorilla mask, and a California Department of Corrections uniform shirt that did not belong to Chavez.
