Man killed in stabbing outside Salinas taqueria

SALINAS (BCN) — A man was stabbed to death Friday night during an altercation outside a Salinas taqueria. Officers responded at 9:47 p.m. to a taqueria in the area of 646

Officers responded at 9:47 p.m. to a taqueria in the area of 646 Williams Road on a report of a stabbing and located 44-year-old Antonio Gonzalez-Alejo suffering from multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen, police said.


Gonzalez-Alejo was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Police said the victim was at the taqueria with Geronimo Hernandez for karaoke night when the two got into an argument. The two went outside, the argument became physical, and witnesses saw Hernandez pull a knife and stab Gonzalez-Alejo several times before fleeing the area, police said.

Hernandez fled to a nearby house, where friends convinced him to turn himself in to police.

He was taken into custody without incident. Police said several witnesses identified Hernandez as the man who stabbed Gonzalez-Alejo.
