MONTEREY COUNTY (KRON) — A man was killed Tuesday morning in a rollover crash off of U.S. Highway 101 northwest of Soledad in Monterey County early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Ezequiel Rosas, a 22-year-old Soledad resident, was driving on southbound Highway 101 north of Camphora Gloria Road around 4:30 a.m., CHP Officer Oscar

Loza said.

Rosas drove a 2007 Mazda3 off the road and into the right shoulder before he crashed into a dirt embankment, Loza said.

The vehicle rolled over multiple times and the impact ejected Rosas onto Silliman Road about 80 feet away from the car, which came to rest on its side, according to Loza.

The 22-year-old man, who didn’t put on his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Loza said.

Investigators don’t suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, according to Loza.Bay City News contributed to this report
