An elderly man was killed in a house fire early Monday in Oakland.
According to officials, the fire was reported around 5:43 a.m. in the 1000 block of 16th Street near Filbert Street.
Authorities say there were 6 people inside the home when the fire broke out.
Five of the 6 victims were able to make it out of the home, while the sixth person — an elderly man — was not able to escape from the home.
He died from injuries sustained in the fire, authorities said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
