SAN JOSE (KRON) — A man was struck and killed early Thursday morning on Highway 101 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 1:15 a.m., police responded to reports of a pedestrian down in the southbound lanes of Hwy 101 at Tully Road, police said.

They arrived and found a man in his early 40s who had been struck by a vehicle. The man, whose name is not yet being released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police are now looking for the driver who struck the pedestrian.

Anyone who may have been driving in the area of Tully Road and Hwy 101 between 1:00 and 1:15 a.m. is being asked to contact their local CHP office.

This is the third pedestrian killed on a Bay Area highway this week.
