SAN JOSE (BCN) — A man killed in a two-car collision on Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose on Sunday night has been identified as 59-year-old Randy Dennis,
according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
Dennis, a San Jose resident, was in one of two cars involved in the collision reported on southbound Highway 280 at McLaughlin Avenue near the U.S. Highway 101 connector ramp shortly after 10 p.m., California Highway Patrol officials said.
A Sig-alert was issued at 10:29 p.m., closing all lanes of the southbound side of the highway.
Drivers were briefly diverted off of the highway at McLaughlin Avenue while emergency crews worked to remove debris, CHP officials said.
A man later identified as Dennis died as a result of the incident, according to the CHP.
The Sig-alert was canceled at 12:47 a.m. when all lanes on the highway reopened.
