SALINAS (KRON) — A man was injured during a shooting at a Salinas parking lot Thursday night, according to police.
The shooting occurred around 8:20 p.m. when suspects confronted two victims in an apartment complex located in the 1100 block of Del Monte Avenue.
The confrontation escalated, and the suspects shot the victims, according to police.
The suspects then got into a gray or blue Nissan Altima and fled to a neighboring street, where one of the suspects may have gotten into a white Chevy Suburban.
Both cars got away before police arrived.
One of the victims, a 20-year-old man, suffered a graze wound to his stomach and a round went into his abdomen, police said.
He was transported to a hospital for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
The second victim, a 21-year-old man was not hit by the gunfire, according to police.
Investigators have yet to determine if the shooting was gang-related, police said.
