PITTSBURG (KRON) — Pittsburg police are investigating a man found dead on a bench in Pittsburg’s Buchana Park on Wednesday morning.
At around 7 a.m., police said they found an unresponsive man sitting on a bench at the park, located at 4150 Harbor St.
The person who called police was an associate of the victim and had seen him in the park on Tuesday evening, police said.
The man who died was a transient and was known to frequent the area. His name was not yet being released.
Police said the cause of the man’s death is under investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
There are security cameras in the area of the park and officers are looking through footage.
Police are also asking anyone with information about the death or who may have been in the park Tuesday evening to contact the department.
