OAKLAND (BCN) — A man was fatally shot in East Oakland on Thursday night, police said.
Officers who responded to a report of gunshots in the 3500 block of 68th Avenue, near the Eastmont Town Center, at 9:25 p.m. on Thursday located the shooting scene but didn’t find the victim, police said.
Officers later learned that the male adult victim transported himself to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, according to police. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
Police said the victim’s identity has not been determined pending an autopsy by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.
