FREMONT (KRON) — A car has driven off Niles Canyon and into Alameda Creek Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP received reports of the car going off Hwy 84 and into the creek at around 5:05 a.m.
The driver was able to get out of the car and is now being taken to a hospital, a dispatcher said.
The car is still submerged in the creek.
The mother of the driver told KRON4’s Averi Harper that her son fell asleep at the wheel.
This is the second time a driver drove into the creek this week. Crews are still searching for 18-year-old Jayda Jenkins who drove into the creek on Saturday morning.Stay with KRON4 News for updates.
