CONCORD (KRON) — A man died after his car went down an embankment and struck a tree in Concord Thursday morning, according to police.
Police received a report of crash at 7:57 a.m. near the intersection of Ygnacio Valley and Ayers roads, police said.
A 1992 four-door Honda was traveling west on Ygnacio Valley Road when it sideswiped another vehicle and went down the embankment.
There were no other injuries following the collision, police said.
The driver of the other car that was involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
It is unclear at this time who is at fault, according to police.
Ygnacio Valley Road is open but South Larwin Avenue between Juneberry and Buckthorn courts is closed this morning as police investigate the crash.
