SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police in San Francisco are investigating a stabbing that happened at the Civic Center BART Station on Wednesday night, according to police.

BART police received calls that a person was stabbed at the station shortly before 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from three stab wounds to the chest, stomach and back, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was in critical but stable condition as of Wednesday night, police said.

BART officials said it wasn’t immediately clear if the victim was stabbed at the station or came into the station after being stabbed on the street.

The Civic Center Station was shut down as police investigated. BART has since resumed normal service.

No other information has been made available by police.
