PITTSBURG (KRON)— The Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office has charged a man for allegedly shooting and killing his roommate in Pittsburg Tuesday morning.

Ryon Wittling, 47, is charged with murdering Nicholas Shaeffer, 23, after the two got into an argument.

Wittlin allegedly confessed to killing Shaeffer to police over the phone.

Officers arrived to the home on the 100 block of Trident Drive around 5:30 Tuesday morning where the shooting occurred.

The gun used in the killing was found inside the house.

Wittlin is now in jail with a $2 million bail.

Prosecutors say he will be arraigned on Friday.
