Pasco deputies have arrested a man for abusing three children because they didn’t eat their breakfast fast enough.
Benny James III was arrested Wednesday night at his home in Spring Hill. Deputies say the 42-year-old hit three children with a belt because they didn’t eat their breakfast in a 30-minute time limit.
According to an arrest report, the children reported being hit with a belt on their buttocks, hands, feet and back.
The arrest report says James then gave the children 10 more minutes to eat. When the kids couldn’t finish their breakfast, deputies say James hit them again.
The victims are ages 5, 8 and 9, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say two of the children had injuries to their upper back, hands and feet. The third had a bruise on each foot.
James was arrested and taken to the Land O Lakes Detention Center. He is facing three child abuse charges.
