NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Friday on child endangerment charges, after a police affidavit claimed he was found coming in and out of consciousness in a Taco Bell drive-thru with his child in the car.
The affidavit stated police responded to the Taco Bell near Murfreesboro Pike and Dover Glen, where they allegedly found Kevin Furness Jr. drifting in and out of consciousness behind the wheel of his car. Medics reportedly saw track marks on his arm, typically associated with heroin use.
When authorities arrived, Furness’ five-year-old daughter reportedly told medics her father had hit the sidewalk, referencing the car’s flat tire.
The child’s grandmother was called to pick her up.
The affidavit goes on to state that medics took Furness to Southern Hills Medical Center, where he gave a blood sample for testing.
Once he was medically cleared, authorities took Furness into custody for booking.
