PETALUMA (KRON) — Police arrested a man Tuesday in Petaluma for flaunting a knife in public.

24-year-old Johnathan Humberto Maldanado-Sandoval challenged civilians to a knife fight around 1 p.m. in the area of Howard and Washington streets, according to authorities.

Police say when they arrived to the scene the man looked intoxicated, shirtless, and was brandishing a 9-inch double bladed knife.

Sandoval also threw a bicycle at a vehicle, according to officers on the scene .

The suspect was tased multiple times after ignoring officers commands to drop his weapon .

Sandoval even cut some of the taser wires with his knife, according to authorities.

Officers successfully arrested and disarmed the suspect after the fourth taser deployment.

Sandoval is currently in custody.
