A man has been arrested in the robbery and kidnapping of a San Jose State University student, forcing him to withdraw cash from various ATMs, police said on Thursday.
The robbery happened on Aug. 22 at around 2:39 p.m. on San Salvador and South Sixth streets, police said. When officers arrived, the 18-year-old student told them he was robbed at gunpoint by a man who forced him to walk to various ATMs in the area and take out money.
Detectives have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Solomon Bell, of San Jose. Police arrested him on Wednesday.
He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for robbery and kidnapping, both felonies.
