KING CITY (BCN) — Deputies arrested a 43-year-old man Friday after he allegedly forced his way into a woman’s Monterey County home and choked her, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place at about 11:30 a.m. in the 45000 block of Royal Drive, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said they arrested Robbie Smith later in the day at his home in the 50800 block of Pine Canyon Road.
Smith allegedly refused to leave once inside the victim’s home and grabbed her by the neck with both hands, deputies said. Smith allegedly choked her and pushed her onto a bed, telling her he wanted her to die, according to the sheriff’s office.
Smith denied any wrongdoing when deputies arrested him, sheriff’s officials said.
The victim had bruises on her neck and complained of throat and neck pain as a result of the attack, according to sheriff’s officials.
