CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON) — Police have arrested a man suspected of assaulting people along the Iron Horse trail in Alamo.
The first incident happened Wednesday afternoon. Police said a man was riding his bike and randomly hitting and blocking people around Danville and Alamo.
At least three people were hurt, including a possible juvenile. The man was arrested near Ridgewood Road at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The man arbitrarily assaulted and got in the way of up to five people trying to travel on the popular pedestrian path, park spokeswoman Carolyn Jones said.
He is facing charges including false imprisonment, misdemeanor battery, and assault upon pedestrians.
Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputies initially arrested the man before the park district’s police force took him into its custody.
The man, whose identity was not provided, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
