Man arrested, accused of pulling out a gun at a party in Redwood City

REDWOOD CITY (KRON) — The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who they think pulled out a handgun at a party over the weekend.

Around 10:13 Saturday evening, deputies with the sheriff’s office were called to the 900 block of Lakeview Drive after getting a call about a man who had pulled out a gun and pointed it at a person’s head.

After talking to two victims and witnesses, investigators determined 19-year-old Jason Jones to be their suspect.

Jones was the host of the party. Witnesses told police that they showed up to the party, even though they weren’t invited.

The witnesses told deputies that they got into an argument with Jones when he asked them to leave the party. When they left, the witnesses told police that Jones chased the victims down the driveway and pulled out a gun.

He then allegedly pointed the gun at one of the victim’s head and broke out a window of a vehicle that belongs to one of the victims.

After getting a search warrant for his house, deputies arrested Jones Tuesday morning.

He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility, charged with assault with a deadly weapon, terrorist threats, brandishing a firearm and vandalism.
