PITTSBURG (KRON) — A man was arrested after he allegedly tried to stab another man with a screwdriver and threatened him with a metal pole Saturday in Pittsburg, authorities said.
Jeremy Jackson, 28, was arrested a shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the Bliss Avenue Park-and-Ride lot, BART police Lt. Steve Coontz said.
A man was working on his car in the parking lot with Jackson allegedly approached the man with a metal police.
Jackson demanded the man hand over his flashlight, which the man gave him, according to police.
Jackson then allegedly picked up a screwdriver and tried to stab the man, police said. The man was able to get into his car and drive away.
The man called police and officers from the Pittsburg Police Department detained Jackson at a nearby restaurant, according to police.
BART police responded and took Jackson to the county jail where he was booked on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
The victim was not injured, police said.
